4D filed plot tool?

Hi:

This question is not a "solver" question but
it is related.

I want to plot the field in the 3D space.
the data is in the form of
(x,y,z,magnitude) such as
...
1,1,1, 10
2,2,2, 20
...

Which tool/software is suitable for this
scientific graphing application?

Actually, if you want to plot the the real field,
the tool should be a vector plot with data
(x,y,z,Ex,Ey,Ez)

So, any one has idea for that?

Thanks

problem visualizing output

I was thinking about your problem and there seems to be a fundamental limitation. The only characteristic that can be used after the 3 physical dimensions is color. If your 3 dimensional area has many data points, these colored spheres will be difficult to see in a graphical view. You may be limited to making slices through your 3 dimensional space and representing them with a surface whose distance above a plane is proportional to the fourth parameter.

agree with flatulent

All:

I agree with flatulent.
If the data is a lot, then it losts its visualability.
THe only way is to reduce the sampling.

And my data has special structure. The
Z direction is discretized, such as

...
(?,?, 1, ?)
(?,?, 1, ?)
(?,?, 1, ?)
(?,?, 1, ?)
...

(?,?, 2, ?)
(?,?, 2, ?)
(?,?, 2, ?)
(?,?, 2, ?)
...

But I still want to plot them with
color representing the magnitude.

Further suggestion?

PS: How these 3D solver(s), for instance FDTD tools,
plot the solution of the field and make
animation from it.

Thanks for the attention

continue my topic

Hi:

Do you guys not wan to plot the EM simulation result (Vector)
in the 3D space?

Recently, I did some search on internet and find the following
3 tools might being the solution. Since I donot have them and
cannot test them, so please show me your experience and suggestion.

1) PV-wave

2)Rhino 3D
