Which is better for amplifying gain, transistor or op-amp?

On this topic, does anyone know which one generally tends to have less noise? a transistor or an op-amp? for simplicity purposes lets say an inverting op-amp.

Transistor vs op-amp

op-amp include many transitor so may be op-amp will create more noise than transitor. But just only though, not verified yet!

how can one be better then the otherthe end result is the same they both amplfy. Now if he would have said something about application then all these arguments will be valid. My final word
