Which is better (finger or without a finger ?

Consider we have one nMOS of 1200nm width .

In Layout we can follow any one of the below approach :
1. One finger of 1200nm
2. Two finger of 600nm each
3. Three finder of 400nm each.

NOTE: Don't worry about cell height and cell width.

Which will be better to be employed in the layout ?
 

Depends what you are doing. Using fingers can reduce the source/drain area, reducing parasitics, which can be beneficial.
