Where schematics for programmer EPM7064LC84 ?
Thanks.

Use the ByteBlasterII JTAG programmer schematic from Alteras website...
also there app-note how to attach pull-up/down resistor for JTAG programming..

There is NO LC version, maybe it is EPM7064 PLCC-84. It doesn`t support JTAG so ByteBlaster is useless.

Hi,

Seems to be a LC version...

There is a Byteblaster II schematics on mcu.cz :

h**p://www.mcu.cz/atm/index.php?direction=0&order=&directory=EDA

Dont know if it is working.

Show me, and I will belive ;) some sellers have in own catalogs product called LC but it is seller label not producer (altera). Check at altera homepage.

Hi Elektryk,

Part Number is EPM7064LC84-x, package is PLCC84 :

h**p://www.altera.com/cgi-bin/devsearch.pl?searchText=&docsetConstraints=&col=corp&qt=epm7064&scope=0&submit.x=20&submit.y=2

Wow, I have compared againt my elder project, and I have seen EPM7064LC44 in real. So EPM7064LC84 is a version of EPM7064 which is "normal" version without JTAG. I was using Elnec`s JetProg, but it is quite expensive, and I have borrowed it. If someone have any idea which "cheap, homemade programmer" support this chip, I am waiting for idea.

Any reason staying with the obsolete MAX7000 devices?
Why don´t you use newer MAX7000S or MAX7000AE chips with JTAG?

In my area (Poland) MAX7000 are almost 4 time cheaper than other versions. For me it is better to have JTAG capable device, but for my boss not.

Below is the path to programmer datasheet which includes shematic also.

xprkumar,

Thanks, but this programmer is a standard one for JTAG devices - it will not work for the original 7000 (non-JTAG) devices under discussion.

Cheers,
FoxyRick.
