Direction sensor?

Hi,

I wounder if you know there is a direction sensor? I need it in my project there need to know if an object is going up or down direction. None of my contacts know where I can get it. Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Honeywell has electronic compass and other magnetic sensors.

ASIC

do you mean gyroscop ?? analog devices has some of these sensors ..

axis sensors usually calculate the acceleration and
can be used for direction calculation .
It is used on submarines when underwater navigation has to be done and GPS signal is not present .

GPS if I am not wrong does also provide direction information .

Motorola and philips have acceleration sensors. I heard that they are restricted items and cannot be exported outside the USA. Maybe they can be used in guidance systems or something.

because those could be used in weapon construction as well .
But I do not think that it is only produced in USA . Try to search google .
