i never heared of adesign method , simulation is rather used , typical values are c = 10nf and R = 39 ohms

There are in fact procedures to design snubber. Most of them are not perfect since they sometimes use approximations -- but that is better than nothing.

Take a look at following documents to get a feel for the calculations.
