Option 1. Instantiation at RTL
Option 2. Instantiation at netlist

What are the pros and cons? What issues might arised for each option?

Thanks!

Re: When to insert PAD?

Hi
insert the PAD in netlist!
But bestly, make module of top level, where the PADs and your module will connect.

When to insert PAD?

seperate pad and core, you can insert pad in nelist or use a rtl pad file

Re: When to insert PAD?

Hi ,

Instantiation of PAD in RTL is better .

1) It gives opertunity to do functional simulation
2) BSD ( Boundary scan design ) better you do in RTL .

Better if you make RTL partition such that your core in separate and pad control separate .

Thanks & Regards
