could u plz suggest about the acid and water to be filled in Inverter battery. once b'coz of over flow, battery had lost the required amount of acid . now i'd like to refill the propertionate acid and distilled water.

Re: battery

Car battery or something else? I don't think that on an open type battery you fill in acid - only distilled water is there to refill. And there is also a line on the battery where is the minimum. A general rule is that all the battery element ( the plates inside) should be covered with distiled water and none to be exposed.

Do you have any photo of this battery? Is it something special?

Re: battery

if battery is dead then

water: acid
3:1

dont pour water into acid it may cause fire

pour acid into water always

Re: battery

you must have seriosly overloading if battery got owerflow...

How much overflow ?

if loss < 10% of cell volyme is practical not need refill acid to continue good working, make only a note acid weigt i sligth lower than normal in full charged state (charge properly and note spec acid weight on every cell for later reference)

Is more importent a lead plate package inside cell newer exposed for free air - all part of not well soaked plate above elecrolyt level is a more or less dead part of battery if leaved in drying state in more than few minuters... is a negative plate take damage from air oxygen depend of fine grained pure lead sponge oxidate very quick and wrong type of oxide from air and cannot reverse process again with charging.

Is a same reason to never , never open plugs in sealed Lead batterys, plate inside is only partial soaked (half dry) with electrolyte and air oxygen have easly access to whole plate and damage whole battery on short time if plugs left open...
