What's the maximum operating frequency of those circuits?

Hi Designers...

Here i have attached two circuits. We can have a discussion of finding the maximum operating frequency of these two circuits.

Which all are the paths we should consider in two circuits for finding the max operating frequency.

I think one must know whether N1 is Combinatorial or Sequential ?????????

If it's combinatorial ... Whole loop matters in max freq


and if it's Sequential or a flip etc is there ...... then it's not a problem that serious ......

And I am just a beginner

FF1(launch)--N1--FF2(capture)
FF2(launch)--N2--FF1(capture)

C1,C2 clock skew need to be considered!

In the first circuit
If both flops are operating at same clock and the delay of N2 > delay of N1, we should consider the N2 path otherwise N1 path.

In the second circuit
Both +ve and -ve Skews are there. +ve skew will increase the operating frequency and the -ve skew will reduce the maximum operating frequency. So we should take the N2 path for maximum clock frequency calculation.
