Hi all,

I am new to DS 1307 ...

Please answer these two questions:

1. what's the purpose of Square wave pin ... how can it help in simple applications.

2. Is the 56 bytes ram available in Chip - is for chip's internal processing or we use it...? if yes then for what purpose...

Regards,

Simran..

DS1307 Simple doubts

1. The square wave is a multipurpose output, the most simple apps is a watchdog function. if the signal stops, the mcu will know that there's a problem with the RTC. Or, more simple, use it to blink led, indicating 1 second. (1 Hz output right?)
2. You can use the RAM, for any purpose you wish.
