What's the different bewteen VCD and SAIF

I don't quite understand what's the difference bewteen a VCD and a SAIF? Can anybody help me? Thanks!

Hi,
I've not used SAIF before, but a quick google search revealed some interesting stuff:

That's 3 year old stuff, so I believe there should be good documentation with VCS/Power compiler on this SAIF - check it out.

Hi erich123,

Briefly, SAIF is for power estimation.

VCD is for debug, which has many information.

Hi wadaye, I guess SAIF only contains switching activity, while VCD has more such as delay information etc. Am I right?
