What's the difference between oscillator and inverter?

whta is the difference b/w ossillator and invertor

oscillator has no input and produces a oscillating wave as output... inverter has an input and the output is just the inversion of the input....
 

diff B/w

Simple example of oscillator would be a three invertor connected in series and the output of the last one is connected with the input of the first one....
where as inverter is itself a single element which invert the signal which is present in the input terminal

no no no ..... i have askd about difference b/w ossillator and dc to ac convertor also known as invertor ok

yar both r dc to ac convertor and have no specific input ,without dc supply source that is used to for conversion

generally the equipment used to produce sine wave output are called inverter.... oscillators generally produce many types of output waveforms.... otherwise there is no big difference between the two...

oscillator normally produce an ac o/p. converting from dc. while and inverter is a reverse of oscillator.
