Hi all,

I need for my actual design an RTC with sec, min, hour, day of the week (I have accuracy problems with PIC interrupts), but it should be really low cost.

Any ideias for low cost RTC IC's?

(I have seen ST M41T00/80 that can be a choice, but need external crystal)

epson rtc price

Hello!

Is there any RTC IC for SPI bus?

Regards!

small rtc ic

Dallas/Maxim Semiconductor manufactures various RTCs. You can have a look at their websites.

ds1338 mit 5v

philips have a many various of rtc in i2C standard.
G.

Ricoh has small smd chips... for I2C bus
it works with external chrystal...
but I don't remember the name of the devices...

Very cheap RTC from HT

If you're familiar with DS1302, you can use HT1380 from Holtech(A Taiwan
company); it's really cheaper than any RTC in the market (0.4UD)

Hi,
have a look at the Maxim/Dallas DS1338. It's about 1,2$, consumes less than 500nA in Battery-Backup mode with oscillator running and integrates additionally 56Byte NV RAM.
Another important feature is the seperate battery and supply pins so you need no additional circuitry. Just connect the battery and that's it.

Hi,

Holtek HT1380 look's good. But where I can find it in Europe for 0.4USD? RS have it for 2.38Euro....

ThX for all

What supply voltage 3.3V or 5V ?
Do you need battery (3V Lithium) backup ?

Hi,
5V supply, with battery backup

For 5V supplay and external 3V battery I using M41T56 (M41T00) .
For 3.3V supplay and external 3V battery M41T11.

It need only external 32.768KHz crystal (no external trimming caps) and it contains digital software clock calibration.

Sorry, but I have not a up to date price and I have not seen
that they have a direct battery pin
