Guys, what are HDLC and SDLC, what's their
application especially in satellite communications,
I heard they are used as a type of multiplexing, yes?
Please elaborate on this issue more in detail.
Thanks!

Re: HDLC/SDLC

HDLC is data link layer protocol. ALl layer 2 protocols generally off shoots of HDLC.

Re: HDLC/SDLC

HDLC/SDLC are both Data link layer protocals.. These two protocals have different frame formates. These are used in wireless communication also (adhoc networks). These protocals have some set of different rules which are used to error control, flow control, physical address assingment.. etc.. u will get clear idea of this two protocals if u keep same question in Data communications other than digital communication field.
