Re: format
Are you reading these files from a CDROM in DOS?
The file TRANS.TBL in each directory on the CDROM, can be used on non-Rock Ridge capable systems to help establish the correct file names. There is also information present in the file that indicates the major and minor numbers for block and character devices, and each symlink has the name of the link file given.
Rock Ridge is a CD-ROM filesystem extension which provides long-filenames and POSIX filesystem semantics support with backwards compatibility for 8+3 DOS filesystem, so under MS_DOS the filenames appear mangled.
This is an example of a TRANS.TBL file:
F .MESSAGE;1 .message
F ADDICTION.LZH;1 addiction.lzh
F ATTRIBUTED_HORROR.LZH;1 attributed_horror.lzh
F BALLERINA.LZH;1 ballerina.lzh
F BANANA_BOAT.LZH;1 banana_boat.lzh
F BLUE_MAX.LZH;1 blue_max.lzh
F CHARACTER.LZH;1 character.lzh
So just open your TRANS.TBL file in a text editor to see what the actual file names are supposed to be!!
Bye.
