[SOLVED] what kind of diodes do we need to use?

hi,
the question is about a pulse generator. in the datasheet, in the typical application circuit part there are two diodes at the output. what is their function and what kind of diodes should we use?

It allows the transducer to swing beyond the supply voltage rails. And in case of a bidirectional transceiver, isolates the driver from receiver path.

The diode type obviously depends on the intended transducer current. The demoboard (see supertex.com) is e.g. using a BAV99.
