mosfets have four breakdown as i know.

1. avalanche breakdown
2. oxide rupture
3. TDDB
4. punchthrough

I don't understand what does TDDB means.
I tried to find TDDB in several books, I couldn't find it.

I want to know what does that means "TDDB" and
when does it occur and what is effect on mosfet by TDDB.

what is major cause to make a TDDB?

I'll appreciate if you help me. plz.

Re: what is "Time Dependance Dielectric Breakdown?&quot

Hi~

The dielectric breakdown voltage is dependent on the slope of the voltage applied to a dielectric material. Since the slope is dependent on the time and the breakdown voltage is dependent on the slope, they call the phenomenon time-dependent breakdown.

can the TDDB be found out using device simulations and if so which simulator has this feature for determining TDDB
