Hi everyone,
i found assembly variants in allegro and PADS.Let me explain any one what is the use of assembly variarant ?? what is the role of assembly variants

It allows you to have one PCB that will cater for numerous end products, the cost saving is made by not populating the circuitry that is not used in some variants. Eg you may have a mobile device with no camera for the basic model, so you assemble these without the camera chip and associated circuitry.

An Assembly Variant is "the assembly" from which the BOM & assembly drawing etc are obtained.
The "Assembly layer" is the layer on the PCB that is used to create an assembly drawing, this layer will change for each assembly\variant to produce an assembly drawing per variant assembly.
