What is the purpose of using delta mfcc values in the feature vector?

I struggle with speech recognition.
Is it enough to use the feature vector calculated in mfcc for the speech recognition or also do i have to use delta mfcc vector?
As i searched in web, delta-mfcc values are also used in feature vector with the mfcc values. what is the purpose of using delta mfcc values in the feature vector?
