can any tell me what is the physical meaning of a bessel function???

I know only that they are useful in waveguides and related toipcs.

now i know that bessel function is used in communication (FM transmision analysis.)

this function is very useful in the electromagnetic.
for example in Waveguides , solved poisson laplace and etc.
for more information reffer to Electromagnetic's book.

Bessel function is the solution of a special second order differential equation. It is used in many applications.

Please see the David Cheng's book (Field and Wave Electromagnetics) page. 563.

Functions bessel and neyman play the same role for the systems with the azimuthal symmetry, such as sin and cos play for the systems with the translation symmetry.
