what is the output of mux if select is X

Hi All,

Can some one tell me what will be the output of mux if the select signal is X?

The output should also be considered as X, since it is not defined what input should be used to send to the output.

It depends on how the mux is modeled. It could be modeled such that if the inputs are the same, i.e. all '0' or all '1' and the select is 'X' then the output can be '0' or '1'. Like I said, it depends on how it is modeled.

I think In real world. the output can't be decided if the select signal can't be decided;

In library, it depends on model. I checked tsmc and arm library, there are no this "X" situation of select signal.
