frequency???

hi guys

whats the meaning of negative frequency???
is there any practical significance for it???

frequency???

i think it is just a mathmatic concept
no real phisical negative frequency

Re: frequency???

It is cos(-wt) and can be detected with complex (I Q) hardware implementations within a circuit. You cannot detect the difference in positive or negative once they have left the source and you do not have a reference frequency from the circuit that generated them.

Re: frequency???

in one cycle signal have both +ve and -ve value .and one complet cycle show a freq .but practically not consider -ve value.just in claculation only.

Re: frequency???

yeah, may be it is the phase of frequency!
