i have a current source of 100uA.I need 2mA current.could this be achieved by transistor mirroring operation.if yes, what is the trade-off.

well there is no hard and fast rule for that but in my opinion dont go for mirroring ratios greater then 5 as it would degrade matching.if u dont want 2mA current to be accurate u can go for that.

but try to make layout with fingers(interdigitised),place dummies etc

you can get 2mA.
mirror 100uA to 500uA then 500uA to 2mA

may be try using cascode mirror.

then use interdigitized layout.
