Currently I'm using a OP-Amp part which operates rail-to-rail (0V~ +12V). What would be the impact on performance and parameter if I substitute this part with another part which has Rail-to-rail ( -8V ~ +8V).

current part: MC33204 ( ON Semi)
substitution part : TLC2274IDR

Pls advice. Thanks.

regards,
M.Kumar

I cannot see a problem with the substitution. The +/-8V figures in the TI part are arbitrary - they are measured relative to halfway between the rails. The inputs can stand rail-rail +/0.3V.

The inputs of the TI part don't work near the positive rail though.

Keith.
