DMA: Direct Memory Access
DMA: Digital Media Adapter
DMA: Direct Memory Addressing
DMA: Display Memory At
DMA: Distant Monitor Access
DMA: Doctor of Musical Arts

having seen your other posts.... i think you are talking about Direct memory access....

Direct memory access is when the master device gives of its bus to a slave device to use to access memory and at that time the entire transaction involving that bus is controlled by the slave device... during this time the master device does whatever things it has to do without using the bus....
the main advantage of DMA is the speed of access....
