:D hi every body

iam new to fpga and i get confused from some topics .

so can you explain the difference between Xilinx ISE version 10.1i SP3 softwere
and Mentor-Graphics Modelsim Questa 6.3h software

is it do the same objects or integrated each other.

the other point how i can get testbench file? and is it necessary to make simulation in modelsim ?

last point: why i can't add waves in modelsim? i did compiler and start simulation and the screen of waves appears but when i write add wave, nothing happened .

Have a look at the Xilinx and Mentor website to see what for job both tools do.

Write it yourselves.

If you want to be sure that your design behaves correctly you should simulate it, but if you are very very sure that you do not make mistakes it is not necessary.

Maybe specify the signal names you want to display in the wave.
