What is the difference between pre-layout and post layout simulation in ASIC design?

The main things you will have to keep in mind here, the difference between prelayout simulation and post layout simulation is twofold.

Firstly the spelling is slightly different. Secondly, post layout simulation has more bananas.

Example: post layout banana pancakes. Yummy!
