what is the difference between intel 8051 and atmel 8051, in terms of their operations and applications, which is widely used????

Hi,

Intel was the first to design an architectutre on 8051 with 2 timers etc etc.
Atmel is similar to intel 8051 except for a few addition of pheripherals.

There are also other architectures compatible in instruction set alone and has some extra pheripherals.Eg: Silicon Labs

Please compare the two datasheets for more accurate differences

One thing to mention

Atmel introduced flash while older 8051 has eeprom

the real 8051 ha dno eeprom
it only had a rom
and you should interface the external eeprom for your program
when it terms 8051 between, it means rom
if it's 8031 no roms
8751 means
eprom
8951 it's eeprom
rest all the same

Download the datasheet of the two micros you want to compare. Take a look at the features of the two micros, there you will see the difference.
