What is the difference between BSIM3 and BSIM4?

My foundry just update the kit to BSIM4. With the new kit the simulaiton speed is very slow, some circuit even can not converge. What is the difference between BSIM3 and BSIM4? Concerning the accuracy, are they the same? Thanks.
