The Sams and TAB series are good.

Forrest Mims wrote many inexpensive useful down-to-earth booklets which were (are) marketed by Radio Shack. Including one or two dealing with op amps.

The National Semiconductor Linear Databook has a chapter of specs and sample circuits for op amps. (After this many years they might have put out an entire book for op amps.)

To avoid paying full retail price, look on Ebay.

Don't overlook the loads of free info on the internet. For simulations I'm a fan of the Falstad website. It has several op amp simulations (including amplifiers and oscillators).

A book that has helped me a lot is the "IC op-amp Cookbook" by Walter J. Jung.

Lots of good diagrams and clear explanations.

Agreed. There are also lots of sites with very good prices on good condition 2nd-hand books from international sellers - I use Alibris UK: Second-hand books, Rare & Out-of-Print Books, Textbooks
