A simple negative voltage reference circuit is shown in the following schematic:
lt1021.PNG

while a complex negative voltage reference circuit, where there is an integrator, is shown in the following schematic:
adr381.PNG

What is the benefit of the integerator in the complex circuit in comparison with the simple one?

Hi,

What is the benefit of the integerator in the complex circuit in comparison with the simple one?
Even the headline of the datasheets section to this schematic tells the benefit..

And the text explains it even more detailed.

What information do you expect we can add to this?

Klaus

presumably the omp-ap ckt adds extra filtering and has a soft start ...?

No need for precision resistors is the benefit in comparison with the approach with an inverting op amp configuration. The simple schematic with a shunt device (LT1021) also does not need precision resistors. So I wonder why should I choose the complex one?

Hi,

The drawback of the simple circuit is,
* that it draws a lot of current and has - due to the fixed dummy load resistor - limited supply voltage range.
