What is the basic difference between DIT and DIF?

dit dif fft

DIF starts with normal order input and generates bit reversed order output.
In contrast, DIT starts with bit reversed order input and generates normal order output.

Thats not true dear!

DIT and DIF both can start with normal order and both can start with bit reverse order.

I want more little bit more difference.

hey naresh850,

the diff between the two lies in their very names - decimation is time and decimation in freq.

when u say decimation on time, u will consider the individual samples(actually pair of samples) in time domain n find their freq parts and go further and further to find the fft.

when u say decimation on freq, u will consider the individual samples in freq domain n combine them to come out with the actual fft.

i hope this will give u an idea..
