What is the application of the Fire & Ice tool?

For what purpose, we r going for this tool. what r the inputs and its outputs.
What are the benefits we get when using thi stool
I also need to know abt VoltageStorm, celticIC

Fire & Ice

Fire and ICe is the gate level extraction engine accessible through the encounter software for generating detailed parasitics.....With the help of the u can perform sign off extraction after running wroute or nanoroute..............

The inputs which are required for this tool is 1.DEF file which contails place and route information
2.ICT file which contains the dielectric information for the capacitance and so on which is given by the fab to us
3.Fire and ICE QX command file which defines the extraction environment ( library name , technology file name and so on) and it also specifies the nets to extract and how to controls the resistance and capacitance extraction and specifies the extraction outputs.
