what is the output of MAX1036(ADC), if the analog input of ADC is bigger than its Vref?

A/D is MAX1036

if analog input is 4.096V , then it will output "11111111" ,
Then
if analog input is 4.5V , MAX1036 will output what ? "11111111" still ???
(Note :Vcc = 5.0V )

Thanks.

Hi
for analog input larger than 4.096V, the output wil be "11111111".
because there is no more bit.
regards

ok.
The answer was just I thoutht to be .

Thanks.

singnal will be cut off

Re: what is result if analog input of A/D is bigger than Vre

yes it will show all 1's because if max voltage is 4.0 and u give 5.09 then the output will be clipped to max value of Vref and the output will be the digital value of Vref. :))
