Hi,
I have been working on relay circuitry and i was asked to provide power factor for the relay.
The supply used to power the relay is 24VDC and the load is 2A. As per the datasheet, the power dissipation of relay is 0.5W.
How to calcluate the power factor of the relay? Is is correct to use that word for DC power?

Best Regards,
myatham

In this case, the power factor is equal 1 for DC.

Thanks pico. I am adding one more point to discuss. Is it not required to consider the power wasted to operate the relay while calculating the power factor?
