What is meant by IPC356 netlist?

Hi,

What is meant by IPC356 netlist?. For what purpose is it generated? For PADS PowerPCB version 3.0 which IPC netlist should we use?

IPC netlist enables board house to compare netlist they generate from
gerber files to be compared with your board netlist that has been outputted to IPC 356.
