Analogue is where the level of voltage or current represent some physical data. i.e. a temperature of 20 degrees could be 2.0V, 45 degrees 4.5V. In a digital system you would represent these quantities as numbers i. e. 2 + 0 or 4 +5 and represent the actual numbers in a digital code.
For analogue multiplication, you first put your voltages through a logerithmic amplifier, whose out put Y = LOG(input volts). The two resulting voltages are then added, then the single output (which is the log of the answer) is then passed through an antilogerithmic amplifier to get the real answer.
