What is formality when generating failing points

hi all
could somebody pls tell me what is formality .when failing points generate,how
to fix the problem, please upload some material on that .hope u will help me.

If you have failing points
1). Make sure you are using svf
2). Make sure your svf commands have successfully annotated
3). Make sure that you have disabled scan.

thank you very much for your advise.
i have write out the svf file while doing rtl synthesis.
>>set_svf design.svf
and when i read that svf file in the formality use the command : >>set_svf design.svf
the file can't be read in. the message is :
Error:Cannot open file:design.svf(FM-203)
>>man FM-203
NAME
FM-203 (error) Cannot open file: %s

DESCRIPTION
Cannot open the specified file.

WHAT NEXT
Verify that the file exists, the path is valid, and you
have read permissions on the file.

and the file exist,the path is valid . why ??
could you give me some advice?
the tool version is :
DC: syn_vW-2004.12-SP5
formality: fm_vV-2004.06-SP2

you wont believe it, but you have to do
set_svf ./design.svf
instead of
set_svf design.svf
