I merely learnt some vhdl in college and requirements now jpbs I looked is to ogram in ada langugage.

I need more info and "lectures" about this firmware engineering

Thank you fir the help, sorry for being an ignorant

firmware engineering versus sw engineering

Firmware Engineering Management, Firmware Engineer, RTOS, Microprocessor, 16/32 Bit, ARM7/9

Based in the Grand Rapids, MI area, we are one of the country's largest commercial/ industrial designers and manufacturers of optical, color, and light measuring instruments. Due to massive growth and expansion, we are currently recruiting for a high energy Firmware Engineering Manager to join our elite group of engineering professionals and scientists. The primary role of this position is to manage (8-10 firmware engineers), lead by example, and develop embedded software to satisfy product functional and performance requirements and to develop and improve the systems, methods and processes used to accomplish the task. We are looking for someone that is very passionate, brings a ton of energy, leads/teaches by example, and strives for simplicity with regards to engineering architecture. If this sounds like you, please read on and apply immediately for an interview.

Responsibilities:
1.) You will rely on industry-wide best practices and the appropriate balance between advanced analytical techniques and empirical verification to design and deliver world class electrical instruments to manufacturing.

2.) Analyzes and designs firmware for embedded controller based products.

3.) You will help make significant improvements in cycle time, quality, technology, standardization and platform architectures in addition to day-to-day design activities.

4.) Technological focus areas include 16/32 bit microcontrollers, RTOS, high speed digital communications protocols, digital imaging data paths, FPGA's, PCB design and advanced digital architecture.

Must Have Skills:
1.) 5-10 years of experience developing Firmware, Real-Time Embedded Microcontroller-based systems in a Product Development environment. We work with ARM and RISC microprocessors, so this would be a plus, but microprocessor experience in general is required. Experience with commercial and industrial INSTRUMENTATION applications is a huge plus.

2.) 2-5+ years of experience in a team leadership role or Firmware Engineering management role is required. We want hands on people that can teach by example....NOT just a manager of people.

3.) Experience with high speed communications protocols (USB, serial and Ethernet), multi-layer/high-density PCB design, FPGA's, VHDL or Verilog, fractional horse power motor control (DC and stepper) and low-level signal processing a plus.

4.) BSEE degree or related is required. MSEE or related is a plus.

5.) Color Science, electronic imaging, CCD Sensors, Mixed-Signal Design, Power Supplies, Optics, and EMC/ESD mitigation a plus.

digital firmware engineer interview questions

Firmware is low level Embedded Software.
Other people call Firmware CPLD/FPGA design using languages such as VHDL,Verilog and so on.
In other words Firmware is more related to Hardware control using software
