What is lumped element model and distributed element model. How lumped model is different from distributed model.

What is lumped element model and distributed element model. How lumped model is different from distributed model.

Lumped elements means one can distinguish inductors and capacitors as separate components.
When one cannot, like in line sections or waveguide sections, and optical components, then the "model" is called "distributed".
