A car battery 12 V, 16 AH is expected to provide about 1 A of current approximately for 16 hours and so on. Will there be change in the terminal voltage in the beginning, during and at the end?
The battery rating is from fully charged voltage to fully discharged voltage so it will drop as you discharge the battery.
The relation between charge and output voltage is different for each battery type
Nominal fully charged voltage is 12.6 but may be higher after charging. The battery is considered discharged at 10.5V and discharging below this will drastically shorten the life of the battery.
Does it mean that :
Initially a fully charged battery is 12.6V, after usage, voltage drops gradually, when the current drawn is abut 16 AH (in this case), the terminal voltage of the battery is about 10.5 V.
Am I right in understanding that!
