Dear all,
What is basic difference between C and C# w.r.t EMBEDDED SYSTEMS. What are amjor applications of C#. Is C# more applicable for a emebedded sytems or C/C++.
Thanx in advance.

C $ C#

i dont use or even know C#, but C# is somekind more related to java than to c++. It needs .net or other alternativas (mono as open source etc). Unless you get mono or .net working in your embedded system if i'm not wrong you can't use C# ( ? )

Re: C $ C#

Hi,
my friend, for embedded 99 % is C/C++ :)
C# is only for windows CE and windows mobile(may be some other but i know only these)

thanks
sawaak

If you choose to use C# for embedded applications u'll struggle to find compilers!!
It's just not advisable, unless, of course, u're planing to write ur code for an OS based system (eg Wince).

Added after 4 minutes:

C is ideal for small systems with limited resources. C++ can be used for larger systems requiring OO features. But C is mostly used for Embedded applications .
