What is a timing loop and how does it affect the circuit?

What is clock loop? And what effect it will have?

designs having ring oscillator in ther designs have mostly timing loops.
it is usally a series of invertors with o/p of last invertor is feedback to i/p of first invertor.

maybe you have a combinational feedback in your hdl code.
