What is a normalized frequency?

Hi,

i dont understand exactly what normalized frequency is. Let say we have a 24th order filter which has 0.3pi cutoff frequency. How can i find its normalized cutoff frequency?

The normalized cutoff frequency is a factor of the sample frequency. If the normalized cutoff frequency of a filter is 0,3 it's 0,3 Hz if you have a sampling frequency of 1 Hz and 300 MHz if you have a sampling frequency of 1 GHz.
