Hi guys,

I am designing a two stage differntial opamp and i need to get a swing of 0.8 V using 1.8V supply. I have to compenstate the opamp. I am not quite sure what is cascode miller compensation using a CG amplifier. Can somebody please clearify that?

I have to also use CMFB. Im not sure if i can use one CMFB for the two stage or i have to design two seperate ones. I really appreciate if somebody clearify that for me. thanks a bunch

Re: op-amp

For compensation of two-stage amplifier, you need a miller cap with a CG amplifier, which functions as a zero removal resistor. Details, please read

Design of Analog CMOS Integrated Circuits, by Behzad Razvi

Sec. 10.5 : Compensation for two-stage OP Amp.

You can ge the book at :

op-amp

thanks drming..
so my understanding is that there are two compensation methods, one is lead compesnation and one is miller cap with a cg amplifier. ami correct?

Re: op-amp

that's correct.

Re: op-amp

u have to use CMFB ckt for 2 stage fully diff op amp.
