While I do understand blind and burried vias, what is a backfilled via and why do we need it? What is it filled with?

Are you sure that you don't mean backdrilled via, a commonly used technique in high speed PCB design.

Well, ok, tell me what is backdrilled via then.

Use google, it's really easy to find information on back drilling vias.

I can't believe the audacity in expecting someone to find a link for you. I understood the first query as there is hardly any information on back filling vias, but this is boarding on being exceptionally lazy.
