What happens when I calibrate my mobile touch screen. When I am on calibration mode it asks to touch cross hairs at four places and displays calibration done. I want to know what does it mean to calibrate a touch screen. And what happens during the process of calibration.

The phone asks us to touch or tap 4 corners, and checks if the corners X and Y co-ordinates are read and is equal as that stored in the program... if not it caliberates as on long use the touch screen pad looses its sensitivity and is needed to press hard or recognises or misinterprets screen touch wrongly.

Its easy to check the border co-ordinates rather than any other place on the screen..
