What happens if tiny SMDs on PCBs of electronics get accidentally removed? Will the electronic work, stop working or malfunction?

What are such tiny SMDs used for?

Why don't electronic manufacturers install some sort of plate to protect them from fingers and nails unintentionally removing them from PCB?

What a nonsense post...

Let my counter ask: What happens if tiny organs are removed from a human. Will he still live, die or go crazy?
What are these organs used for?
Why don´t humans use protecting clothes?

Answers (to both):
* it depends
* various usage
* usually they are protected

This is what enclosures are for.

Requires less space and less mounting/population time compared to tratitional through-hole technology (THT) components. Simply compare the size and mounting effort for a 1/4 W SMD resistor with a 1/4 W THT resistor.
