What exactly is a hybrid IC. Is that a single IC package containing multiple circuits on different wafers? Are any Hybrid ICs available now?

Hi,
Hybrid means (per def.) not more, that two-or more- different technologies are "integrated" in one system, think pls. on "hybrid car engines" too...
In case H.-IC; you have semiconductors, passive elements (as SMD or thin/thick film products) and substrate, all are other technologies.
