qbasic programming...

i've read a code write in qbasic but don't understand one thing...
what is the meaning for this code?

Code:
Eol$=INPUT$(2,#Chan)

Chan is the filename loaded.can someone tell me what the code does?if i want to change it to visual basic 6.0 code, how to write it?

Re: qbasic programming...

i think that it means to read from Chan file 2 variables and put them in Eol.

Re: qbasic programming...

The Doller sign [$] after variables means that the variable is a string one!
